On Saturday, Oct. 11 at 4:42 p.m., Kent Center alerted Station 42 (Carlisle of Milford) for a structure fire on Shawnee Road.

On dispatch, Kent Center advised units to switch to K-TAC4 and also alerted Station 52 (Houston) for one engine to cover Station 42. Engine 42-4 arrived on the scene reporting smoke showing. William Carpenter (42-17) assumed incident command. Several handlines were placed in service; two from Engine 42-4 to the bottom of the silo and two to the top of the silo by way of Ladder 42 from Tanker 42.

A tanker shuttle was set up with five engines resupplying Tanker 52-7, which fed into Tanker 42. In a little over two hours, Command placed the incident under control with units working.

All units were clear from the scene at 7:25 p.m.
