Delaware Crews Respond to Dirt Bike Collision

Two dirt bikes collided while they were riding along the rail road tracks.

On May 25, the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center alerted Stations 74 (Delmar), Medic 102, EMS 200 (Sussex County EMS) and Delaware State Police Trooper 2 for a motor vehicle accident with injuries along the railroad tracks behind the Allen's Feed Mill north of town. Sussex EOC advised all incoming units that two dirt bikes collided while they were riding along the railroad tracks.

Rescue 74 arrived on scene and found two riders down on the ground along the tracks. Paramedic B-74 began patient care along with the crew from Rescue 74. Engine 74-3 arrived and also assisted with care. Trooper 2 landed in the front of the complex and set up for transport. One patient was transported via the chief's personal truck to the landing zone due to the rough terrain of the where the accident happened.

The second patient was transported via Paramedic B-74 to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, MD The Delaware State Police was also on the scene conducting an investigation as to the reason of the accident.
