Lookout Mountain, Georgia Motor Vehicle Crash Kills One, Injures Seven

Around 10:30 PM on Saturday, June 26, 2004, a Chevy Tahoe Suburban heading West on East Highway 136 in Dade County, Georgia flipped at least once before trapping several occupants inside.

Around 10:30 PM on Saturday, June 26, 2004, a Chevy Tahoe Suburban heading West on East Highway 136 in Dade County, Georgia flipped at least once before trapping several occupants inside.

Firefighters with the Salem Volunteer Fire Department and Paramedics with Hutcheson EMS responded to the scene of the collision. Upon arrival, paramedics and EMT's requested several other ambulances to assist with transporting the eight injured passengers.

Firefighters with Salem Volunteer Fire Department quickly requested assistance from the Trenton, Georgia Fire Department to help with extricating the injured patients from the mangled wreckage. Unfortunately, one male that was trapped inside the vehicle received the worst of the injuries and subsequently died at the scene. The other seven occupants that had a wide array of injures were transported to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Georgia Highway patrol officers and officers with the Georgia Highway Patrol Reenactment Team "SCRT" are investigating the collision. A witness at the scene said that the vehicle was speeding when the collision happened.
