Shortly after 11 p.m. on June 10th, the Plattekill Fire and Ambulance along with Mobile Life Support Services were alerted for a serious accident in the 300 block of Forest Rd. Responding units were advised of a possible ejection with serious injuries so a medevac was placed on standby.
A short while later Incident Command (Asst Chief Casey Scalia) arrived on scene and confirmed the ejection and requested the medevac be launched; the Modena Fire Department was requested to establish an LZ.
As treatment of the female driver began on scene she went into traumatic arrest and was transported to the St Luke's Campus of the St Luke's Cornwall Hospital where she died of her injuries a short time later, she was due to graduate from Washingtonville High School in 2 weeks.
