On November 23, 2006 a short in an exhaust fan destroyed a vacant, 30' x 150' chicken house in Willards Maryland. Approximately 35 firefighters from Willards (Wicomico County 8), Pittsville (Wicomico 6) and Gumboro Sussex County, DE 79) brought the fire under control in approximately 20 minutes.
No injures were reported from the incident, investigators said and damage is estimated at about $70,000.
