Photo Story: Seven FDs Contain Tenn. Industrial Fire

Firefighters from seven departments battled a fire at Coldstar International in Piney Flats on Jan.7.

The call came in around 2:45 a.m. and fire crews spent over 12 hours on scene.

Crews had to deal with freezing equipment because the temperature was -2 degrees, with windchills around -17.

Firefighters from Pine Flats VFD, Bluff City VFD, Avoca VFD, Sullivan Co VFD, East VFD, Hickory Tree VFD, Johnson City FD? responded. Support was received with Sullivan Co EMS/EMA, Sullivan County Sheriff's Office, the American Red Cross, Sullivan County Highway Department, and a local construction company that sent a fuel truck to re-fuel apparatus on scene.
