A fire that swept through an historic downtown inn occurred on Jan. 6, which was the coldest night in decades.
The Emmitt House was located in downtown Waverly. Â It was built in 1861 as a market and inn.
It was just recently a restaurant with a bakery and small clothing shop and one of the oldest buildings in Pike County. Â
They had been many reports of paranormal activity taking place within the building in recent years. Â Residents of Waverly and travelers still enjoyed stopping by to enjoy a good meal in a building teaming with history. Â Â
