Engine 5 reported they could see the fire burning from a mile away when they left their station.

An early morning fire destroyed a home on Fort Worth's East side Nov. 13.

Firefighters were dispatched to the 1100 block of Mulkey Street around 5 a.m.

Engine 5's crew reported seeing the fire as they left the station, about a mile away.

Crews from Engines 5 and 4 made an interior attack, but were pulled out as fire quickly throughout the one-story home.

Several handlines were deployed as well as a deck gun from Engine 5 to knock down the fire.

Four engines, one ladder and two chiefs responded.
