N.C. Church Ceiling Collapses, 12 Hurt

HICKORY, N.C. -- Hickory firefighters responded to a reported building collapse Sunday at the Friendship Baptist Church. Firefighters said that upon arrival they found a portion of the ceiling had fallen into the sanctuary, injuring several people. Twelve people were transported to area hospitals. An official from the Catawba County Building Inspections deemed the building unsafe for occupancy.
