CA Firefighters Free Boy Stuck in Statue

Fairfield firefighters used hammers and a chisel to chip away at a stone statue after a boy got his head stuck crawling through it at a library Monday.

June 26 -- FAIRFIELD, CA -- A crew of firefighters were called to remove a boy’s head from a statue at a library here, officials said.

A Twitter post by the Fairfield Fire Department says the boy was trying to crawl through a stone statue at the library when he got his head stuck. Using hammers and chisels, firefighters “gently” chipped away at the statue to free the boy.

The boy wasn’t injured, and the statue had minor damage, officials said.
