NY Firefighters Rescue Child Trapped in Vending Machine

Syracuse crews were called to a shopping and entertainment center after a small child climbed into a ball vending machine and became stuck.

SYRACUSE, NY—A child was reported trapped inside of a vending machine at Destiny USA on Tuesday, and Syracuse firefighters came to the rescue.

Firefighters from Engine Company 2 and Rescue 1 responded to the call that the child was stuck in the vending machine at about 5:30 p.m., according to a post on the Syracuse Fire Department’s Facebook page.

The crews quickly disassembled the machine, and got the child out, firefighters said. No one was injured, according to the post.

A Syracuse Fire Department spokesperson was not immediately available to comment on the child’s identity or how the child got into the machine.
