FFs Rescue Dog from 50-Foot Well

Dec. 28, 2021
Chesterfield County Fire and EMS firefighters rescued a dog after it fell 50 feet into a well on Christmas day.

A canine that fell into a deep well required a technical rescue team to be brought in for the Christmas day rescue.

Chesterfield County Fire and EMS's Technical Rescue Team spent around 20 minutes to rescue Zelda, who fire officials said fell “40-50 feet” into the well

The department's Facebook post shows Technical Rescue Team members using a rope system to gain access to Zelda, and then hoisting her to safety.

Officials said Zelda was unharmed and “excited to be reunited with family.”
