Quick action by Milwaukee firefighters saved the life of a person who tried to jump from the ledge of an eighth-story window last week.

Video captured members of the Milwaukee Fire Department's Heavy Urban Rescue Team using a rope-and-pulley system to initiate a "pick off" maneuver to pull the individual to safety Friday, WISN-TV reports. In the rescue, a firefighter was lowered from the 10th floor, and other team members secure the person's limbs in order to get them inside the building.

Battalion Chief Erich Roden said timing was crucial because he believed the individual "was probably within a few minutes of falling off the ledge."

"I feel good," Ben Baus, the firefighter who was lowered down, told WISN about the rescue. "It's one of the good feelings on this job. We all come to work. There's a ton of guys ready to do the same thing I did today. I was just fortunate I was in the right sea."
