Atlanta firefighters rescued a man who was trapped beneath a commuter rail station's catwalk Wednesday.

The incident happened before 8 p.m. at the MARTA rail system's Edgewood-Candler Park Station, WAGA-TV reports. When crews arrived, they found the man conscious and alert, with an injury to his leg.

Firefighters freed him in roughly an hour, and he was taken to the hospital, where his condition was unknown. It wasn't clear how the man became stuck under the catwalk, and authorities didn't know if he had been struck by a train.

The incident stopped service and caused delays.
