Workers Injured in Electrical Incident at Montgomery County, MD, Metro Station

One worker suffered serious injuries in the incident at the Medical Center Metro station near Rockville.

An electrical incident at the Medical Center Metro station in Montgomery County Monday morning left three workers injured, one seriously.

The crew was performing work on an electrical vault or shaft when the incident, possibly an explosion, occurred, WTTG reported.

The workers suffered burns and other injuries, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Spokesperson Pete Piringer told reporters at the scene.

One of those transported was seriously injured, Piringer said.

The incident remains under investigation.
