One Dead, Seven Hurt in PA Chicken House Collapse

Technical rescue crews from Maryland assisted with the hours-long operation near Gettysburg.

One person was killed and seven others injured when a chicken house collapsed Friday morning in rural Pennsylvania.

All were in the empty building when it collapsed, and seven were able to make it out on their own, They were transported to the hospital for treatment, The York Daily Record reported.

The victims were contractors, not employees of Hillandale Farms, the owner of the building.

Technical rescue crews from Maryland assisted with the hours-long incident, which remains under investigation.
