Video: PA Firefighters Rescue Worker after Trench Collapse

A construction worker was caught in a partial trench collapse at a work site in Lower Pottsgrove, and firefighters were called in to perform a technical rescue.

Pennsylvania firefighters rescued at least one construction worker after a trench partially collapsed Wednesday.

The incident happen shortly after 1:15 p.m. at a work site in Lower Pottsgrove in Montgomery County, WPVI-TV reports. Utility work had been going on at the time when the collapse happened.

A technical rescue team was deployed to the scene, and a worker was pulled up from the trench. Aerial video shows the worker being hoisted to the surface and put on a stretcher as medics began treating him.

The worker was conscious as he was taken to the hospital. No details were released concerning the worker's condition.

The cause of the collapse is currently under investigation.
