In what was described as an atypical call, firefighters from multiple departments extricated an individual from a vehicle that was pinned by a pickup truck in an accident in Anderson County.

South Carolina firefighters from multiple departments rescued a person who was trapped in a car that was pinned under a pickup truck Friday.

The accident involving a Suzuki hatchback happened shortly after 7:30 p.m. in Anderson County, the Townville Volunteer Fire Department said in an online post. Townville was one of the neighboring departments called in by Sandy Springs Fire & Rescue to help with the incident.

After stabilizing both vehicles, firefighters were able to extricate the trapped person. The individual was taken to the hospital, but no details were released on the extent of the injuries.

"Great job and team effort to all involved in this 'atypical' call," the Townville Volunteer Fire Department stated in its update.
