Dozens of vehicles were involved in crashes along a stretch of Interstate 94 near Hixton in Western Wisconsin Thursday morning.
A tractor-trailer with vehicles underneath it crashed into the median of interstate around 5:45 a.m. and caught fire with, according to CBS58.com.
That set off a series of crashes involving an estimated 40 cars, trucks and semis that ran off the road of jack-knifed.
The Wisconsin State Patrol reported that the were some people suffering minor injuries.
Buses were brought to the scene to take the drivers to a shelter while the scene was cleared up, WEAU reported.
Freezing rain was reported during the time of the crash.
