Ridgeland firefighters had to extricate a driver pinned under a semi-tanker on Interstate 55 Wednesday afternoon.

Fire crews responding to the incident arrived to find a car pinned under the tanker containing 8,500 gallons of gasoline with the sedan driver trapped inside.

In a Facebook post, Ridgeland Fire Department called the rescue effort a “very tedious extrication.”

The driver suffered minor injuries and was transported to University Mississippi Medical Center.
