Three people aboard a private air ambulance suffered minor injuries when it crashed on the helipad on the roof of a Los Angeles hospital Friday afternoon.
Los Angeles fire officials told CBS Los Angeles that the helicopter was transporting a donated heart to Keck Hospital around 3:30 p.m.
Aerial footage showed the aircraft laying on its side, surrounded by debris, including its rotors.
The heart was safely removed from the helicopter.
The three occupants of the helicopter self-extricated and were treated at two hospitals.
