Virginia firefighters are hoping lawmakers will close a loophole in state law that requires them to prove they came in contact with a toxic substance in order to receive cancer benefits.

Firefighter groups are also lobbying for brain, colon and testicular cancers to be added to the list of occupational cancers covered by the state.
