A firefighter suffered a minor injury to his back Sunday morning in Ypsilanti Township while battling a house fire, according to Washtenaw County fire dispatchers.
The fire started at about 3 a.m. in the 200 block of Taft Avenue, between Michigan Avenue and Mansfield Street.
The home normally houses a family of six, but no one was home at the time of the fire.
The injured firefighter was taken to nearby St. Joe's Hospital.
