Three Oklahoma City firefighters spoke to KOCO-TV about a floor collapse that occurred on Monday and could have had a much different outcome.
Firefighters Jimmy Poplin and Josh Percy and recruit Bo Woodard were on the second floor of the 10th Street flea market and had been battling the fire for about three hours and most of the flames were put out.
They believe the worst was over, but they were wrong.
"All of the sudden the floor gave out from in under us, and we ended up on the first floor real quick," Percy told the news station.
All three say that training kept them safe.
"It all goes back to your training and what you're trained to do," Poplin said.
They were transported to the hospital, but none sustained serious injuries.
