Man Arrested for Assaulting OK Firefighter at House Fire

A man was arrested after hitting a Tulsa firefighter and knocking him over during a house fire last night.
Tulsa firefighters were battling a house fire on North Kingston Avenue just after 11 p.m. when several people tried to reenter the structure.
Dale Parsons used a large flashlight to hit a firefighter repeatedly, according to Tulsa World. The firefighter was knocked down.
Fellow firefighters held Parsons, 48, until police arrived and arrested him, Tulsa Fire Spokesman Stan May told the newspaper.
Parsons faces a number of charges, including assault with a dangerous weapon, interfering with a fireman, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
May said firefighters found drug insides the home.
The firefighter was treated at the scene for injuries to the head.
