The coroner released the cause of death of one of two York City firefighters killed in March building collapse.

The coroner's office released the cause of death of one of the two York City firefighters killed in a March 22 collapse.

The York County Coroner's Office tweeted that Zachary Anthony died of blunt force trauma with traumatic asphyxia. They ruled that the cause of death is accidental.

Anthony, 29, and Ivan Flanscha, 50, were dousing hot spots the day after a major fire damaged the Weaver Piano & Organ building.

The two were trapped when a portion of the building collapsed.

Several other firefighters were injured during the collapse.

"Zach was our jokester,"  York City Fire and Rescue Chief David Michaels said after his death. "Everything he said was funny."

"He was a family guy ... a young guy ready to get his life started with marriage and children," added.

Earlier this month, the the families left behind by Anthony and Flanscha initiated legal action against C.S. Davidson Inc., which the city contracts with for engineering services.
