A suspect was apprehended early Tuesday at a New Jersey motel, about 25 miles where firefighter Faizal Coto was beaten to death with a baseball bat.

A suspect in the fatal road rage attack on an off-duty FDNY firefighter was apprehended early Tuesday.

U.S. Marshals and NYPD officers picked up the man, thought to be a Latin Kings gang member, and his girlfriend at a motel in South Amboy, NJ, WNBC-TV reports. The suspect was identified as Joseph Desmond, 29, according to WCBS-TV.

No charges have been filed against Desmond stemming from the beating death of firefighter Faizal Coto. Desmond had served jail time for assault and possession of a controlled substance convictions, and he was conditionally released in April.

The arrest happened about 25 miles from Sunday's attack on the Belt Parkway in Brooklyn. Faizal Coto, 33, was beaten to death with a baseball bat by an angry driver after their cars hit one another near Exit 4 in Bath Beach.

Visitation for Coto will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Leone Funeral Home, 696 4th Ave., Brooklyn. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Coto had been a firefighter with FDNY's Engine 245 for three years, WCBS reports. He also had an aspiring hip hop career under his rap name FAIYA.
