Teen Charged in SC Crash with Apparatus

The teen is accused of hitting a Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue vehicle at a fire in Socastee and then driving from the scene, authorities say.

A teen was charged with driving too fast for road conditions after a crash involving a South Carolina fire department's apparatus.

Following the accident with the Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue vehicle, the teen fled the crash scene in Socastee, but he later turned himself, in, the South Carolina Highway Patrol told WBTW-TV. The teen's identity has not been released.

No one was hurt in the accident involving the apparatus, according to WBTW. A Horry County firefighter had been injured fighting a blaze at Kaidens Roadhouse, and the accident happened at the fire scene after the firefighter was taken to the hospital.
