SHELTON — One Pine Rock Park firefighter has been suspended pending results of a police investigation into a gun being fired inside the fire house earlier this month, according to fire officials.
Deputy Fire Chief Paul Wilson said no one was injured in the Sept. 8 incident, and the building sustained minor damage.
"The fire department is not involved in the investigation, but we certainly do not condone the incident," Wilson said.
Police Det. Chris Nugent confirmed that the incident is under investigation. Nugent said police were informed by the Pine Rock Park Fire Company No. 4 captain of a gun being fired at the firehouse.
"We cannot release any other information at this time," Nugent said.
Neither the police department nor fire officials would release the name of the individual or individuals involved, citing the ongoing investigation.
Wilson said the length of the suspension will be determined once the police conclude their investigation.
