OH Township EMS Chief Dies on Duty

Wayne Township Fire & Rescue announced the death of EMS Chief Mark Miller.

Wayne Township Fire & Rescue announced the on-duty death of EMS Chief Mark Miller.

Miller, 58, a longtime paramedic, died unexpectedly Saturday. Details of his death have not been released.

Waynesfield Police Chief Nathan W. Motter said in a release: "Mark, a dear friend of the police department and many, many others, will be tremendously missed. His over 30 years of selflessly serving multiple communities and his country simply cannot be replaced. Mark may no longer be with us on Earth, but his legacy will never be forgotten."

On its Facebook page, Wayne Township Fire & Rescue wrote: "Rest easy Chief, we will take it from here. Thank you for all of your dedication and years of service. We will miss you!"

Waynesfield Mayor Rodny Luma ordered federal, state and local flags be lowered to half- staff until sunset of the day of the funeral.

Visitation will be held from 11-5 on Saturday, Oct. 29 at Schlosser Funeral Home in Wapakoneta, OH.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30 at Waynesfield-Goshen Local Schools in Waynesfield.
