Personnel at Kinnelon Volunteer Fire Company are preparing to offer a final salute to their lieutenant.

After responding to a call on Nov. 18, Lt. Justin Bower, 30, was found unresponsive at his home. He could not be revived.

Kinnelon Borough Mayor Jim Freda reflected after watching the escort Bower received. "Today I stood proud as I watched my good friend and Fireman Lt. Justin Bower as he returned home. As I stood and watched I had an extremely sad but proud feeling. Proud of the brotherhood that our Police and Firefighters have for each other. Proud that our town steps up for anyone in need..."

Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Monday at Morrison Funeral Home.
