Whitney Safety Officer Daniel Potts died Nov. 24 at the fire station.
The safety officer at Whitney Fire Departmenet who died on duty last week will be laid to rest Dec. 1.
Daniel Potts, 74, was getting in a support vehicle on Nov. 24 to respond to a structure fire when he suffered a medical emergency, the U.S. Fire Administration reported.
He was found unconscious and was pronounced dead at the scene.
