NY FF Dies of Issue Following '19 Incident

A New York firefighter injured on the job in 2019 died Dec. 11 of a heart-related issue.

Mount Vernon Firefighter Lamont Killian Jr. collapsed at a house fire on June 22, 2019. He was immediately transported to a hospital where he suffered a heart attack. He never returned to work, the U.S.Fire Administration reported.

This brings to 82 the number of firefighters who have died on duty this year. 

Visitation will be held from 4-7 Dec. 21 and from 10-11 a.m. Dec. 22 at the Macedonia Baptist Church, 141 S. 9th Ave, Mount Vernon, NY

The funeral will begin at 11 a.m.
