Man Fires Gun at AL Firefighter on Welfare Check

The Mobile Fire Rescue firefighters and a police officer were trying to access a Hawkins Street home on a welfare check when the shot was fired.

A Mobile firefighter and police officer were shot at by an elderly man when they were conducting a welfare check.

The emergency crews tried to access the Hawkins Street home when the 79-year-old resident fired a single gun shot, WALA.com reported.

The firefighter and the officer both suffered minor injuries from glass shards. 

No charges were filed in the incident.
