TX Firefighters to Use Dogs to Detect Cancer

Austin firefighters will soon take part in a trial in which cancer-sniffing dogs will test air samples.

The Austin Fire Department will soon take part in a clinical trial in which cancer-sniffing dogs will test air samples provided by firefighters. The Good Canine Academy in the Dallas area says that after years of research, dogs are detecting cancers at very early stages at a rate of 98 percent with no false positives.
