RI Firefighter Seriously Injured in Highway Crash

A veteran Providence firefighter is in serious but stable condition after crews needed 30 minutes to extricate him from his vehicle Tuesday night.

Veteran Providence firefighter Derrick Campbell is in serious but stable condition after crews needed 30 minutes to extricate him from his vehicle following a wreck Tuesday night on I-95.

"His brother and sister firefighters had to, you know, respond to that call and extricate him from the vehicle as well," Commissioner of Public Safety Steven Pare said.
