Two Prince George's County firefighters were burned Saturday while battling a house fire in Riverdale.
Firefighters were called to the 5200 block of 57th Avenue around 2:50 p.m. and found heavy fire from a one-story dwelling.
Crews began attacking the fire and evacuation tones were sounded while firefighters moved to a defensive attack.
One firefighter suffered significant burns and a second was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
In 2012, seven Prince George's County firefighters were injured battling a house fire, also on 57th Avenue, just a mile away. Read the story about that fire in Billy Goldeder's Close Calls column: Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3.
