A West Virginia man was arrested and charged after he was accused of biting a firefighter during a residential fire last week.
Upshur County firefighters responded to a call Thursday involving a fire at an apartment complex in Adrian, WBOY-TV reports. While crews were battling the fire, authorities said Tylor Arbogast, 28, jumped on a pickup truck, smashed two of the vehicle's windows and began fighting with pedestrians who were calling for help.
Arbogast refused to comply "numerous times" with Upshur County sheriff's deputies and resisted arrest. A firefighter with the Warren District Volunteer Fire Department who was helping deputies was then allegedly bitten on the stomach by Arbogast, who "continued to kick, headbutt and bite" during the arrest, according to The Record Delta.
Arbogast was charged with obstructing an officer and assault and battery, and he is currently being held in Tygart Valley Regional Jail. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and Arbogast could face additional charges, The Record Delta added.
