Seven firefighters were injured Saturday afternoon when a flashover occurred at a Chicago house fire.
Firefighters were called to the home in the Roseland neighborhood just before 3:30 p.m. and maydays were called about 10 minutes into the fire, according to ABC Chicago.
Chicago fire officials said a flashover occurred and left seven firefighter with non-life threatening injuries.
"I heard a big boom, and then it was a lot of smoke; and then the firefighters were coming out of the house, and the firefighters were saying 'we gotta go, we gotta go get out,'" witness Janeice Fletcher told the television station.
A mayday assignment was dispatched to the scene and ambulances transported seven firefighters to the hospital.
Six were released and one was being treated for burns at Loyola Medical Center.
