Coon Rapids firefighters shaved their heads in support of fellow firefighter Christian Worby who will be receiving treatment for multiple myeloma.
Worby was diagnosed in October and will be undergoing treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
While watching his fellow firefighters get their hair cut, Worby told KARE11, “it means a lot, yeah. Like these guys obviously care about me.”
Worby said he shaved his head before starting treatment at the Mayo Clinic so his children would have a couple of days to adjust before the change.
"It'll definitely be a void without him," Battalion Chief Tim Gilsrud told KARE 11. "He makes us smile and laugh and we look forward to working with him.”
