AR House Fire Kills 6 of 7 Family Members
A relative of the six family members who died in a fire near Springdale is helping the only survivor, his 13-year-old niece.
40/29 News reports that the mother and father, Juan Carlos and Marisol Corona Aguilar, died when a fire destroyed their home early Sunday morning. Mario, 9; Daniela, 7; and twins Carla and Marisol, 3, also died.
Joanna, 13, survived by escaping through a window.
"I lost my brother and my nieces and nephews," Jose Aguilar, Juan Aguilar's brother, told 40/29 News. "But her, she lost everything."
Joanna is now staying with her aunt and cousin.
The Washington County Sheriff's Department said they are investigating to learn what started the fire.
