Fire and rescue personnel from across Tennessee turned out to honor a firefighter killed in a crash April 24.
North Tazwell Capt. Roy Sewell Jr. was driving a fire engine to establish a landing zone for a medevac helicopter when the rig veered off the road, went down an embankment and overturned.
Sewell, 27, and his wife were expecting their second child, a boy, in July, fellow firefighters told WBIR.
"It just broke my heart because all I could think of was his wife and the little girl and just his family and him being taken away at such a young age," Springdale Fire Chief Matt Seals said.
More than 100 emergency service vehicles escorted Sewell on his ride.
"Our first responders are like family. And if something happens to one, it affects all of us," Bobby Darnell said.
