A civilian was killed and a South Charleston firefighter was seriously injured in a crash involving a fire truck .
Two other firefighters were released after treatment at a local hospital, according to WOWK.
The most seriously injured firefighter underwent surgery Thursday evening. It is unknown if that was the person trapped in the engine.
The Kanawha County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash on Childress Road and the Childress Road access off of Corridor G.
