An Oregon man -- accused of shooting a person -- was killed after crashing his car head-on into a fire truck as he rushed the victim to a hospital.
Juan Jose Castro died as Jackson County Fire District firefighters were attempting to extricate him from his car, according to KDVR.
Deputies reported the victim is recovering from a gunshot wound as well as injuries suffered in the crash. The firefighters were not injured.
The car that was traveling well over 55-miles-per-hour speed limit moved the 35,000-pound fire truck with 400 gallons of water.
