Pursuit Ends When Car Strikes Kingston, MA, Fire Station

Sept. 24, 2024
"Our crews were awakened by an odd sound..." Kingston Fire Chief Mark Douglass said.

Kingston firefighters didn't have far to go to respond to an incident early Monday. It came to them.

“Our crews were awakened by an odd sound and then the fire alarms for the building activated,” Kingston Fire Chief Mark Douglass told WHDH

It didn't take long before they determined the cause -- a stolen car occupied by three teens  being pursued by police had  crashed into the station.

The vehicle knocked over a generator. Overhead wires caught fire which caused a power outage in the area and sent smoke into the station.

The driver ran away but didn't get far before he was apprehended. He was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

Various administrative functions may be impacted for a few days while repairs are made.

All the youths face charges.
