United States Marine Corps Purchases 908 Devices’ Gas Identification Devices
The United States Marine Corps CBRNE Installation and Protection Program has purchased 17 of 908 Devices Inc.'s XplorIR devices for the chemical identification and quantification of hazardous gases and vapors.
The program's goal is to provide CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiation, Nuclear, and Explosive) and hazardous materials equipment, training, and assistance to federal firefighters, military police, post offices, and security augmentation units. Its goal is to safeguard Marine Corps installations and personnel from situations involving hazardous chemicals and CBRNE terrorism.
The XplorIR devices will be installed both domestically and abroad. The company's MX908 handheld mass spectrometer for trace-level chemical identification was first used by the U.S. Marine Corps CBRNE-IPP, which is currently using the XplorIR for bulk gas identification.
More than 5,000 unknown gas and vapor chemical hazards, including complex mixes, may be quickly detected, identified, and quantified at the time of need using the portable XplorIR equipment. In order to examine results in real time from outside the hot zone and make well-informed decisions for a coordinated response, samples can be wirelessly transmitted to the 908 Devices Team Leader app. First responders can easily operate the gadget in emergency scenarios thanks to its straightforward controls, user-friendly display, and construction for severe settings.
