Helmet Cam Captures Battle to Control Two Burning CA Homes

May 24, 2020
Heavy winds and downed power lines contributed to a fast moving fire that destroyed two Fresno homes.

Two homes were destroyed in a two-alarm fire on Friday night in central Fresno.

According to Fresno Fire spokesman Shane Brown, the fire broke out just before 7 p.m. at a home near the intersection of Pine and Safford avenues.

Firefighters arrived to find an exterior fire had spread to two homes. Brown said that crews were facing trouble dealing with heavy winds and power lines that had fallen down near the structure.

It is unknown how many people lived in both the homes, but they appeared to have people living in them. A dog was rescued from one of the homes. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
