Two Balko firefighters were seriously injured when their fire truck rolled over while fighting a large wildfire in Beaver County.
In a Facebook post by Western Oklahoma Fire Coverage on Tuesday evening, two Balko volunteer firefighters were injured when their fire truck rolled off a six-foot embankment.
Both firefighters were medi-flighted to UMC Burn Center in Lubbock, TX for treatment.
“Both of their prognosis’ look promising” Western Oklahoma Fire Coverage updated early Wednesday morning. “The doctor told family members that the guys received deep second degree burns on their hands and arms and first degree burns on their faces. Both men were sedated and were intubated. Lots of smoke inhalation in the lungs.”
A GoFundMe account has been established to assist families with expenses related to the incident. The donations will be split between the families.
