Medics, FF, Patient Injured in Detroit Ambulance Rollover Crash

An ambulance taking a patient suffering from smoke inhalation to the hospital was struck by another vehicle, flipping the rig over and injuring two paramedics and a firefighter.

Two Detroit paramedics, a firefighter and a patient were injured when an ambulance rolled over when it was struck by another vehicle Friday.

The accident happened as the ambulance was taking a patient suffering from smoke inhalation to Detroit Receiving Hospital, WXYZ-TV reports. The person had ben injured in a fire on the city's west side.

Following the crash, the injured patient was taken to the hospital by another ambulance and is expected to recover. The medics and firefighter in the ambulance also was taken to the hospital, where they were treated and released, according to WXYZ.
