May 22, 2022
Plano Fire Rescue Engine 6 was at the dealer's facility awaiting delivery when a man drove off until being located in Dallas.

Police say a man stole a Plano fire apparatus from a dealer's yard and drove around for over an hour before being stopped.

Balch Springs police told WFAA that, just after 5 p.m., the man jumped behind the wheel of Plano Engine 6 and drove away.

The pumper was at the dealer getting the final touches before being delivered, officals said.

Dallas police spotted the stolen pumper about 15 miles away, in downtown Dallas, around 7 p.m. and stopped the rig.
